Bidding Farewell to a Friend
Transporting N8270P (a.k.a. Gloria) to her new home in California

Wednesday Afternoon

The trip from Ashtabula, Ohio to Clow International, Illinios was planned at about 3.5 hours, and that's what it took, more or less. The severe headwind was behind us, so we were making better time. Air Traffic Control routed us a few miles out over Lake Erie to keep us away from Cleveland, but as we worked our way back to the coast, we got a good view of the Cedar Point Amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio.

Another interesting view from the air was a bridge that seemed to fall a few feet short of the shoreline. Perhaps it was under construction... or maybe the result of a cutoff in highway funding?

Finally, after a bunch more flying, we lined up with the runway for the approach into Clow International, the tongue-in-cheek name of this 3000-foot suburban Chicago airfield.
